OPINIONS,PROBLEMS AND WHAT WE LEARNT FROM THIS

Reflection: Welcome

OPINIONS ON THIS ISSUE

Naomika:Mental illnesses is a sensitive topic and shouldn't be taken lightly.Awareness is important and this is a discussion that should continue.

Alyson:There's a huge difference between sad and depressed. These days people would self diagnose or diagnose people around them without fully grasping the concept of depression.Unfortunately,I've noticed that people my age are the ones who tend to do this.

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

All:Our first video got deleted. We lost all our footage. We had to redo the interview and get new content. However,it was a blessing in disguise because our second interview had more substantial input.Other than that there wasn't much conflict or issues. We were all co-operative,submitted our tasks on-time and were passionate about the subject matter.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM THIS?

Paulina:Some people aren't fully aware of mental illnesses and some haven't grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Ninoscha:It takes more than individual effort to come up with a final piece.

Alyson:Not everyone thinks the same and we should take these perspectives into account.

Naomika:I've learnt how to compromise and tolerate others with differing views

Angela:Approaching strangers for interviews and getting rejected made me get out of my comfort zone and helped me grow thick skin.I'm more willing to try new things.

WHAT INSPIRED US TO CHOOSE THIS TOPIC?

All:We noticed that our peers were posting quotes and sharing tweets based on anxiety and depression without being diagnosed or suffering from any sort of mental illness. We wanted to share a message and let the world know that romanticization of mental illnesses is not right and it needs to stop.
